Your Future is a short programme designed specifically to support young people to build confidence and explore their aspirations towards employment, education or training.
The programme is perfect for young people aged 19 to 25, those with learning support needs or have experienced barriers to learning, but there are also specific programmes for 16 to 18-year-olds as well.
How does the programme work?
By engaging in day trips, short breaks, and hands-on learning experiences, those taking part will:
meet others and make new friends
develop interpersonal and social skills
boost employability
build confidence
support self-resilience
increase teamwork and independent living skills
gain an understanding of local opportunities that are right for you.
You will receive three weeks of coaching, and two residentials with coaching and mentoring. The residentials give you the chance to experience city life, by visiting museums, and restaurants, and going shopping! You will also be able to take part in activities, including kayaking, archery and cooking.
Interested? The next programme starts on Monday 4 November for 16 to 18-year-olds, and on Monday 1 December for 19 to 25-year-olds.
