During English Tourism Week (Friday 14 to Friday 21 March) Welcoming Plymouth is delivering a programme of events to inspire job seekers, university students and career changers, providing incredible behind-the-scenes access to tourism venues across the city. Involved in the programme are fantastic accommodation providers Leonardo, Moxy Plymouth and the Duke of Cornwall; brilliant attractions including Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Box, as well as the luxurious China Fleet Country Club, and Plymouth Gin which is housed in one of Plymouth’s national monuments.
James Blake, Visitor Economy Coordinator, said, “Welcoming Plymouth is delighted to be able to organise the first English Tourism Week programme of it’s kind in the city. Providing behind-the-scenes access to some of the city’s key tourism businesses, as well as the opportunity to find out more about the range of careers available in the sector, is a fantastic opportunity for job seekers, career changers, military service leavers and university students alike. The Visitor Economy is key for Plymouth and this programme is the perfect chance to find out not only how places like The Theatre Royal and The Duke of Cornwall run, but also to find out how to develop a career in the industry too.”
This is a fantastic chance to discover how these amazing businesses contribute to Plymouth’s Visitor Economy and learn about the different roles involved and the skills needed in order to be successful and build a career in an exciting and varied industry.
