Welcoming Plymouth - English Tourism Week 2025

Welcoming Plymouth invites you to be part of their first English Tourism Week programme!


Plymouth’s Visitor Economy is worth over £300million to the city. Known as Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth is internationally renowned as a leading UK tourist destination. Visitors from around the world are welcomed to a city that provides a diverse cultural experience and a perfect base for enjoying the city’s surroundings, land and marine.


The city is ambitious and focussed on growing its visitor economy, aiming to increase visitor numbers by 15% and visitor spend by 30% by 2030, creating 1000 extra jobs in tourism in the process.

During the period 14-23 March, Welcoming Plymouth aims to inspire university students, career changers and job seekers through providing incredible behind the scenes access to tourism venues across the city. Involved in the programme are fantastic accommodation providers Leonardo, Moxy Plymouth and the Duke of Cornwall. Brilliant attractions Theatre Royal Plymouth, The Box, as well as the luxurious China Fleet Country Club and Plymouth Gin will also be involved.


Join us from Friday 14 March to discover how these amazing businesses contribute to Plymouth’s Visitor Economy, and learn about the different roles involved and the skills needed in order to be successful and build a career in an exciting and varied industry.

Bookings will be prioritised on a first come first served basis. Welcoming Plymouth reserves the right to change the programme / venue opening times.
