On Course South West launches Supported Internships programme

On Course South West is proud to announce the launch of its Supported Internships programme, an initiative designed to empower young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) aged 16 to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The Your Future Supported Internships programme, due to start on Tuesday 22 April, offers a structured, work-based study curriculum that combines hands-on work experience with tailored academic support. Participants will benefit from:
six to 12-month work placements with local employers in:
Business and Admin
Customer Service
Health and Social Care
Digital, Creative and Design
Green Skills
Education and Early Years
personalised study programmes including English, Maths and other relevant subjects
dedicated job coach support throughout the internship
comprehensive skills training to enhance employability.
To introduce prospective interns to the programme, On Course South West will host a taster day on Friday 11 April, from 10am to 4pm at Hyde Park House, followed by activities around the city. This event will offer participants a glimpse into the experiences they can expect during the employability programme.
