Here at Skills Launchpad Plymouth. we have plenty of things happening support you in your journey to find skills, training and employment.

Monday (open to anyone 16+)
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm:
Mondays are our dedicated day for anyone interested in health and social care, childcare, or the hospitality, retail and tourism sectors. Drop in and chat to our experienced coordinators to find out more. You can learn more about the sectors themselves, and how you can gain skills and qualifications to support your work journey. With a huge variety of job roles available in our city, this is the perfect way to get started!
Tuesday (open to anyone 16+)
Construction Jobs and Training Drop-in: This week we will be joined by Jem Scaffolding. They are currently recruiting five CSCS labourers. You will be able to listen to their presentation, discuss current opportunities, and have a go on VR! Our Construction Co-ordinators Morven and Gareth will also be on hand to chat about opportunities in the industry, and available courses to get you started.
Sector Drop-in Sessions, 10am to 2pm: Tuesdays are focussed on those interested in the construction and built environment, and the green economy. Aswell as Morven and Gareth, our Green Skills Coordinators Jas and Victoria will be available to offer advice on the type of jobs available within the Green Economy, aswell as skills and training opportunities.
If you are ex military and looking to gain new skills or secure work, pop in and chat to Victoria. She will be able to offer help with training and courses that may be of interest, careers you might not have thought of, and practical ways to make those changes!
Aged 19+? The National Careers Service offer pre-booked appointments for help with developing CVs, cover letters, and general careers advice.
Wednesday (Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Growth Sector Drop-in, 10am to 2pm: Drop in and meet with our sector co-ordinators, who can connect you with opportunities in Plymouth's most in demand sectors, including construction and the built environment, health and social care, and the visitor economy.
1:1 Youth Hub appointments, 10am to 2pm with our Coordinators Rhianne and Abi. They will be on hand to chat to you about skills, training, education and jobs. They are also a fountain of knowledge on apprenticeships and supported internships!
Our Youth Hub Work Coaches from the Jobcentre will be meeting people for pre-booked appointments
Hollie from the Prince's Trust will be available to discuss upcoming opportunities..
Thursday ( Youth Hub delivery for 16 to 24-year-olds)
Find Your Future, 12pm to 2pm Our Youth Hub Coordinator Rhi has cleared her diary between 12-2pm to support any care experienced young people in need of a chat and some direction. There’s no pressure to sign up to anything. It’s just a chat, and you can bring a friend or your PA. Pop in and give it a try.

University of Plymouth – Online talks
Trying to find the right course for you and learn about student life can sometimes be tricky. The University of Plymouth’s outreach team has several electronic resources and online talks that you can dip into at a time to suit you. The talks cover a wide range of topics giving an insight into Higher Education, including finance, student budgeting and choosing a course.

Boundless - Efford Youth Centre, Monday 7 October, 6.30-8pm
A youth group for neurodiverse young people. A chance to make new friends, develop social skills and explore new opportunities.
University of Plymouth Open Day
The University of Plymouth is hosting an On Campus Open Day to showcase everything they have to offer. With some great Construction courses available, including Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying, this will be a great chance to see if University life is for you!
