Aged 16 to 24 and interested in gaining some volunteering experience for your CV?
In the New Year, our Youth Hub Coordinator Abi will be supporting local young people to attend a volunteering session at Mount Edgcumbe run by one of the National Marine Park Rangers, Tom.
After getting the 9.45am Cremyll ferry across from Admiral's Hard in Stonehouse, a small group will spend the morning outdoors seed collecting to support the Community Forest team in their tree planting efforts over the winter months. The group will then complete a science survey in the afternoon after lunch before returning on the 3pm ferry back to Stonehouse.
With ferry costs, refreshments and lunch fully funded, this is a great opportunity for young people to gain skills and experience that will look good on their CV.
Notes:
this event will require moderate mobility there will be a lot of walking around the park while collecting seeds and looking for species
there are toilets and accessible toilets can be found at various points around the park
participants should wear suitable clothing for winter and comfortable/practical shoes for working outdoors. If this is a barrier to attending, contact Abi by emailing skillslaunchpad@plymouth.gov.uk explaining your circumstances and she will work with you to try and resolve the issue.
