Jake’s ability is evidenced through his recent work on a residential refurbishment project for the MOD. His proactive approach enabled the project team to optimise resources, saving time and money.
In every task, Jake demonstrates a level of dedication and professionalism that far exceeds expectations. His contributions have directly supported BuildX’s growth, enhanced client satisfaction, and positioned him as an integral part of the team.

His involvement with BPART has been a key aspect of his apprenticeship journey, providing him with valuable opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, broaden his understanding of the sector, and contribute to discussions around the future of construction.
Jake regularly attends BPART events and workshops, actively participating in networking and knowledge-sharing sessions. These events have allowed him to engage with industry leaders, gain insights into emerging trends, and enhance his understanding of best practices within the built environment.
It is clear to see how Jake’s dedication and willingness to learn have seen him Highly Commended for this award.
Upon receiving the award, Jake said: “I never expected to get this award, I was just happy to have been a finalist! As I was an older apprentice and a career changer, I just thought this was always a young person’s game. It is great to see that anyone of any age can be a successful apprentice and be recognised for their achievements. I found that doing an apprenticeship allowed me to have a great balance of work and social life, and I have been able to fit it around my life which has been a massive bonus."
