Case study: Bradlee Rodriguez-Martinez-Medway, Highly Commended for the Ron Simmonds Construction Trade Apprentice of the Year 2025 Award

Congratulations to Bradlee Rodriguez-Martinez-Medway, Highly Commended for The Ron Simmonds Construction Trade Apprentice of the Year Award 2025!

Bradlee is currently undertaking a Level 2 Scaffolding apprenticeship with LTC Specialist Scaffolding Ltd, and CITB for Scaffolding. Upon joining the team, Bradlee quickly acquired and applied the necessary technical skills for scaffolding, demonstrating his ability to understand and execute tasks with efficiency.

Most recently, Bradlee was awarded the prestigious Barry and Peggy scholarship, through CITB, an award which recognised his exceptional dedication and enthusiasm towards his apprenticeship.

Leah Russell, Scaffold Coordinator with LTC Specialist Scaffolding Ltd said: “Bradlee consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, exceeding expectations in his role.”

From the start of his apprenticeship, Bradlee was keen to support, encourage and uplift his peers. He creates a positive and motivating atmosphere for the rest of his group and consistently treats those around him with respect, kindness and empathy.

Along with his positive personal attributes, Bradlee also has the knowledge, skills, and drive to make a positive impact in the workplace. His college instructors have expressed how he is the perfect individual to work with, due to his work ethic, knowledge and personality.

Leah added, "Bradlee’s progress and achievements have reaffirmed my belief that he is truly deserving of this award.”

In a bid to further progress in the industry, Bradlee has completed three additional courses, alongside his apprenticeship and has more courses planned for 2025. With this kind of proactive attitude and positive work ethic, it is clear why he has been Highly Commended for this award.

Upon receiving the award, Bradlee said: “Thank you so much for this award.  I was never very good at being in a classroom situation as I found that I learnt things much better if I was actually doing them, being practical.  When I looked into an apprenticeship, I found that this suited my learning style perfectly!  I didn’t realise that there were so many trades that I could choose from and so when I was introduced to Leah at LTC Scaffolding through a family friend, I decided that scaffolding was something that I really wanted to try my hand at, and I found that I enjoyed it and that is important to me!  Don’t be put off if classrooms are not for you – an apprenticeship is a great practical way to learn.”
