Whilst we don't typically advertise specific job vacancies, we couldn't ignore the start of a brand-new production line being set up by Babcock in Devonport, as it will create a number of jobs for the city.
Working with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Supacat, Babcock is building a brand-new production line to produce Jackals which are high performance military vehicles. The Jackal is designed to protect military personnel serving in volatile environments and can protect against roadside explosions and mine attacks.
Having built over 550 of these vehicles in the past, Babcock is now taking the first step in an exciting journey to re-establish the Jackal build capability and will be integrating brand new technology solutions into their manufacturing process, including Digital Twins and Digital Fingerprinting technology, along with integrating direct feedback of the vehicle’s performance throughout its lifecycle.
