From Monday 4 to Friday 8 November 2024, in celebration of Green Careers Week we are inviting local people to take part in activities that will inspire them to get involved in developing Plymouth's green economy.

Join us to discover how various sectors in our city are contributing to a sustainable future and explore the range of green careers available. Whether you're interested in renewable energy, conservation, or sustainable construction, taking part in our Green Careers Week activities can help you to find out how your skills can play a part in a greener, more resilient Plymouth.

Ready to get involved?

​Whether you're a student, career changer, or simply interested in the transition to a more sustainable and green economy, these sessions will provide invaluable information and inspiration to help you take the next step in your career journey. Scroll down to see what's on and when.​.

​What to expect
Each day of the week will be themed around a different sector of the green economy:

  • Monday 4 November - Construction and Waste

  • Tuesday 5 November – Marine

  • Wednesday 6 November - Land Management and Conservation

  • Thursday 7 November – Renewable Energy

  • Friday 8 November – Transport and Infrastructure.

 

Each session will include:
•    talks from leading green employers and experts in these areas
•    real-life career journeys and success stories
•    information on green job opportunities in Plymouth
•    networking with professional and industry experts.

This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with potential employers, projects, and see some of the work that has a growing demand for green skills across different sectors. It offers you a chance to see other career opportunities that you may not have known about!
